Error 1 or 8 - Engine/Tach sensing

Compustar monitors your vehicle’s engine to validate remote start activity. In the event your engine cannot be detected, the remote start operation will be cancelled after (3) three unsuccessful attempts. If you have an LCD remote, the following errors could appear on your screen - error 1, error 8, or error 08. To solve this issue, please follow the steps below: 

  1. Start your vehicle’s engine using the key or push-to-start button.
  2. Press and hold the foot brake down.
  3. While keeping your foot on the brake, press the KEY button on your remote control. Your parking lights will flash once.
  4. Turn off your vehicle’s engine and remove the key from the ignition.
  5. Retry remote starting your vehicle using your Compustar remote.

    I get error 08... but it's got a mind of its own sometimes it starts sometimes it doesn't... and I get one click so you would think it's good to go but it's not..

    Hi Fab' Bruins,

    If you are still getting error 08, please bring your vehicle back to the original place of installation. They will be able to check the module for this specific error.
