When attempting to remote start the vehicle will turn on the accessories but will not start the engine, how do I fix this?

Compustar monitors your vehicle’s engine to validate remote start activity. If you are able to control the accessory inputs, but not to remote start the vehicle, please follow the steps below:

  1. Start your vehicle’s engine with the key.
  2. Press and hold the foot brake down.
  3. While keeping your foot on the brake, press the KEY (IV) button for 3 seconds.
  4. Release the foot brake and remove the key from the ignition.

This issue could be the due to some of the options in the remote starter having been reset, usually due to the battery dying in the vehicle. If you continue to experience failed remote start attempts, please contact your original installer or an authorized dealer for assistance with this issue.
